Who engraved you in stone in its head?
Time spills skeletons of past from its mouth
like a ductile superconductor wire
spills electricity at its absolute zero
sans resistance
Shivering in cold for some warmth and resistance,
I don't want to time travel and change my past.
I want my present to change my past
by changing me.
All the city needs to survive
is change.

So much to contemplate in this piece - I love the philosophical question posed and the feeling of that world in some strange way..although perhaps stark where there is electricity there is the capacity for energy, movement and change - excellent!
ReplyDeletethank you. exactly what i wanted to express... the desire and capacity for energy and change...
DeleteOh this is an intriguing poem. I especially like the idea of the present changing the past by "changing me". Cool.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry...... the past leads to the present, but the present is the key to the past too...
DeleteWow I really like this on many levels especially....
ReplyDelete'I don't want to time travel and change my past.
I want my present to change my past
by changing me.'
I agree with this and can relate so much!
Thanks Donna.. keep talking..
DeleteWow....a deep one here. I do like the idea of one's present changing one's past! And so true, we need to change ourselves to accomplish that. Enjoyed the thought-provoking nature of your words.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary.. keep talking..
DeleteSuch a profound thought to consider....changing our pasts by changing ourselves in the present. Really insightful idea.
ReplyDeletethank you.
DeleteI agree this is such a deep & profound piece :)
ReplyDeletethank you Sanaa :)
DeleteI think it's all about letting yourself to be changed... it's the only way to go on... yet so hard.
ReplyDeleteexactly... the resistance needed so as to not let memories take over dreams...
DeleteWonderful concept, and the presentation is terrific!
ReplyDeletethank you.
DeleteInteresting thoughts!
ReplyDeletethank you.
Deletei use the term 'abode' quite a bit. for me it puts rounded edges in an otherwise jagged edge space. one's abode i sometimes refer to as the within of one no matter where in time one has settled. making oneself comfortable no matter where one is at any prticular time and moment allows for one to become part of his or her surroundings which avails one in appreciating the 'becoming'(meaning 'change')of all in one.
ReplyDeletegracias
true... making oneself comfortable no matter wherever one is in time.. it those people who always take you in... where u can be maskless... truly you...
DeleteVery well said! I agree.
ReplyDeletethank you Kerry..
DeleteI don't want to time travel into the past either, but the present at times makes me wish I could, when it seems unchangeable! :) Lovely take.
ReplyDeleteI know. but traveling to the past n changing it won't help either coz I'll never realize the change switching into a different timeline, I would be a different me..
DeleteThank you..
change is good. Like when seasons change, beauties appear with each change. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteyes. sometimes we like the seasons change, the other times we switch on our blowers to warm our shivering bodies...
Delete:)
thank you.
We should see the past and smilem no point of changing it. :)
ReplyDelete:)
Deletea contrasting opinion is cool.
