Resistance.

Who engraved you in stone in its head?

Time spills skeletons of past from its mouth
like a ductile superconductor wire
spills electricity at its absolute zero
sans resistance

Shivering in cold for some warmth and resistance,
I don't want to time travel and change my past.
I want my present to change my past
by changing me.

All the city needs to survive
is change.

  1. So much to contemplate in this piece - I love the philosophical question posed and the feeling of that world in some strange way..although perhaps stark where there is electricity there is the capacity for energy, movement and change - excellent!

    1. Thanks Sherry...... the past leads to the present, but the present is the key to the past too...

  3. Wow I really like this on many levels especially....

'I don't want to time travel and change my past.
I want my present to change my past
    by changing me.'

I agree with this and can relate so much!

  4. Wow....a deep one here. I do like the idea of one's present changing one's past! And so true, we need to change ourselves to accomplish that. Enjoyed the thought-provoking nature of your words.

  7. I think it's all about letting yourself to be changed... it's the only way to go on... yet so hard.

  9. i use the term 'abode' quite a bit. for me it puts rounded edges in an otherwise jagged edge space. one's abode i sometimes refer to as the within of one no matter where in time one has settled. making oneself comfortable no matter where one is at any prticular time and moment allows for one to become part of his or her surroundings which avails one in appreciating the 'becoming'(meaning 'change')of all in one.

    gracias

  10. I don't want to time travel into the past either, but the present at times makes me wish I could, when it seems unchangeable! :) Lovely take.

    1. I know. but traveling to the past n changing it won't help either coz I'll never realize the change switching into a different timeline, I would be a different me..
      Thank you..
